February Funk

it happens to me every year.  this month, the month of February, we just aren't friends.  i feel like its been winter forever and it seems like there wont be an end anytime soon.  i am chilled right down to my bones and it feels as though i may never be warm again.  on those days when the sun does decide to make an appearance you know that it is about -40c out and even if i wanted to get outside i cant.  we all start to get cabin fever and we seem to lose patience with each other just a little faster.  we are tired and grumpy and we know why but just cant seem to do anything about it.  when we do head out and brave to cold, it is beautiful and peaceful and fun but it makes me long even more for those warm summer days that still seem so far out of our grasp.

but alas i know winter still has a way to go and it's time to pull up my socks and shake off the yucky feeling of February that has taken over me.  more attention needs to be given to the little moments, the ones that make me happy and them happy and make us all giggle.  so its time to take a hold of this month i have never gotten along with and show it who's boss.  i will find my footing again and i will take control.  i will breath more and be calm and remember ... spring will happen.  even if everyday is not what i wanted it to be a good sleep in a warm bed is a new beginning and a fresh start.  one step at a time, one day at a time, i will get through this month and i will remember that i can make my own warmth in my little house with my beautiful house.

A Smile

Aisley finds joy and happiness in everything she does.  she makes me smile and laugh and remember what is really important.  she finds fun in everything she does and has a smile on her face at all times.  i think everyone should take a lesson from the book of Aisley.  Find happiness in the small things, the simple things, in everything you do.
