Junior Spartan 2014

the word proud does not even come close to expressing how i feel about my daughters after today.  i lost count of how many times i told them that i was proud of them and told them over and over how proud they should be of themselves.  they are Spartans, they did it, they ran the race, they got through the obstacles and the conquered it.

Aisley ran with me and Quinn ran with her dad and after the race both said they could do it on their own next year.  Quinn also said she wants to go up an age group so it will be longer and harder ... dare i say they are hooked.  when they said go Quinn was off like a bat out of hell and she owned that course!  once she was done she came back and met up with her sister and she cheered for her as she finished up the race and followed her as she crossed the finish line.  Aisley was a complete animal on the course and she absolutely blew my mind.  there were a couple of guys helping the kids on the course that were watching her and started cheering and yelling "you are an animal ... go go go ... you are so cute!" well this encouraged her and she gave it even more, which i didn't think possible.  it was a crazy hot day and the sun was intense but that didn't slow them down.  they are Spartans ... aroo! aroo! aroo!

The End of Another School Year

i can't believe that my girl has completed grade 1!  the last day of school is one of my favourite days of the year.  we celebrate that she has completed another year of school.  i look back on how much she has grown and changed, how much she has learned and matured.  we celebrate that we are free from school for a whole 2 months and that we get to spend our days together, playing and exploring.  as per our tradition we take pictures at the front door to mark this special day in our lives. i love looking at these and comparing the first day of school with the last day.  every year i am just amazed by the difference in them.

first day of school ....

last day of school ....

and of course she hammed it up for the camera in typical Quinn style ....

^^and of course everyone had to get in on the pics^^

 ^^last day of grade 3^^

^^at the bus stop^^

once school was out we had to do something to celebrate.  we had been looking forward to this day for months and finally .. finally it was here!  what better way to celebrate then to stay up late and run around in pajamas with sparklers.

on the last day i finally caught on camera what i get to watch every morning.  this is something i will miss next year when Aisley goes to school.  if you look in the school bus window you will see Quinn waving to the girls.  every morning they do this, truly it is the cutest thing EVER.  the bus driver even waves to them and Aisley thinks that is the greatest thing ever.

A Day at the Beach

so we have found the perfect little beach near our house. we escape there whenever we can and we spend hours and hours there.  we soak up the sun, splash in the waves and you can bet there is always a sandcastle or two.  we love when we go and we love it even more when we get to share our little piece of heaven with our friends.

Mill of Kintail

near the end of the school year Quinn had her big end of the year grade one trip to the Mill of Kintail.  thankfully i was lucky and was able to take the day off work and watch as my girl ventured on her very first big field trip with her class.  we had never been to the Mill before but after this trip we will definitely be back!
